Carl Newland, Titusville Police Chief, passed away Sunday, July 19 of cancer at the age of 47.Chief Newland had been Chief for three years and had served one year as Assistant Chief in Titusville. Prior to his appointment as Chief in Titusville, he was Precinct Commander of the Brevard County Sheriffs Office. At the time of his death, he was the sitting President of the Brevard County Association of Chiefs of Police. Chief Newland will be missed.
