State Representative Robert Sindler recognized by the Association.

The Florida Police Chiefs Association is proud to announce that State Representative Robert Sindler of Northwest Orange County, Florida, is being ecognized by the Association with an award for legislative achievement and for his assistance to the Association during his tenure as a Florida State Representative. Representative Sindler, who is leaving the Legislature after a distinguished tenure, has supported many issues advanced by the Association which were designed to protect the public and improve law enforcement. He has previously been recognized by the Association with legislative awards for his dedication to public safety, including Representative of the Year. As an example, he supported the Evelyn Gort Career Criminal Act, which was designed to make sure that the worst criminals receive long prison terms for their crimes, in order to protect the public to the greatest possible extent. He also successfully sponsored, at the request of the Association, a proposal that required photographs and informa tion about robbers being released from prison be sent to local law enforcement agencies to allow them to solve crimes. In 1998 he sponsored and passed a bill for the Association which secured important training funds for local law enforcement officers. In addition to sponsoring these important bills for the Association, Representative Sindler continuously provided support to the Association on many other issues.
