Resolution 2004-2, Supports Direct Homeland Security Funding for Florida Cities.
WHEREAS,
homeland security is vital to all of the communities in Florida; and
WHEREAS, the state of Florida has received federal funding to
support local, county and state homeland security needs; and
WHEREAS, the state of Florida has approved funding to seven
regional domestic security task forces located throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, state funding for regional task forces go directly to the counties; and
WHEREAS, many Florida Cities have unfunded homeland security needs; and
WHEREAS, direct funding for cities would enhance the safety of millions of citizens; and
WHEREAS, cities have provided without reimbursement, valuable resources for federal
and regional domestic security task forces.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the
Florida Police Chiefs Association supports direct homeland security funding for Florida cities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 12th DAY OF APRIL 2004, in Tallahassee, Florida, at a duly
constituted meeting of the Board of Directors of the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
