WHEREAS, the Relgalf Charitable Foundation has established a new scholarship for police officers
interested in serving in small departments, and;
WHEREAS, those chosen for the award will be known as Florida State University Relgalf Scholars
and will receive many benefits from the honor:
- Four years of full tuition and living expenses for undergraduate studies.
- Four years of full tuition for undergraduate studies.
- Assistance from the College in securing summer internships with small, large and
foreign police departments.
- Coursework scheduling guidance from expert College advisors; and
WHEREAS, this resolution is to endorse and promote the Relgalf Scholarship donated by the
Relgalf Charitable Foundation to the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, having considered a formal request by Dr. Thomas G. Blomberg, professor
and dean of the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University, the Florida Police Chiefs Association officially endorse and
promote the Relgalf Scholarship on behalf of the College throughout the police departments of the State of Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June, 2008 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at a duly
constituted meeting of the Board of Directors of the Florida Police
Chiefs Association.
