Resolution 2009-1, Supports the concept of the Star and Shield Insurance Exchange Program

WHEREAS, the Florida Police Chiefs Association is interested in the welfare of its members, their officers and employees;

WHEREAS, Star & Shield Insurance Exchange is the only insurance company created exclusively to provide personal homeowners and automobile insurance to law enforcement, corrections, fire-rescue and emergency medical service personnel, their civilian law enforcement personnel, credentialed volunteers, retirees and families, and;

WHEREAS, Star & Shield Insurance Exchange is collectively owned by its insured membership consisting of law enforcement officers, civilian law enforcement personnel, credentialed volunteers, retirees and their families in addition to corrections, fire-rescue and emergency medical personnel, and;

WHEREAS, Star & Shield Insurance Exchange has demonstrated its understanding of the law enforcement profession through the experience of its principals and its study of the law enforcement, corrections and fire-rescue culture and has created unique insurance coverage for its insured's, and;

WHEREAS, the Florida Police Chiefs Association desires to show support of the concept of Star & Shield Insurance Exchange;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Florida Police Chiefs Association is taking this action to strongly encourage members of the Florida Police Chiefs Association to allow Star & Shield Insurance Exchange to market its personal insurance to their officers, employees and the law enforcement community.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of September, 2009 in Orlando, Florida at a duly constituted meeting of the Board of Directors of the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
