Resolution 2010-1, Supports the US National Guard and ESGR.

A resolution of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, in support of the National Guard and Reserve and recognizing Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

WHEREAS, the United States National Guard and Reserve forces continue to serve our country with distinction, and;

WHEREAS, National Guard and Reserve units comprise nearly one-half of our nation's military force and, as such, are essential to national security, and;

WHEREAS, the current defense environment requires our citizen-warriors to train vigorously and deploy frequently to meet the nation’s call, and;

WHEREAS, national guardsmen and reservists have responded to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies all over the world, ranging from hurricanes and floods to devastating wild fires, and;

WHEREAS, our nation is blessed and grateful for the volunteer services of these brave men and women who continue to answer the call to serve our communities and our country, and;

WHEREAS, by supporting our national guardsmen and reservists, FPCA members across Florida are helping to advance freedom and democracy around the world, and;

WHEREAS, continuous support ensures a degree of comfort for m embers of the National Guard and Reserve so they can focus on their military duties and not worry about their civilian jobs back home, and;

WHEREAS, at the same time, FPCA benefits from the professionalism, experience and leadership skills these citizen-warriors bring home, and;

WHEREAS, support of National Guard and Reserve at home and abroad helps ensure our troops are mission-ready, while also providing a source of pride and assurance for all Americans, and;

WHEREAS, the nation is grateful to the FPCA members for supporting National Guard and Reserve members and their families.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE FLORIDA POLICE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION:

Section 1.That the Florida Police Chiefs Association joins with the Florida Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to support service in the National Guard and Reserve force by signing an ESGR Statement of Support.

Section 2.That the Florida Police Chiefs Association encourages all FPCA members to join in expressing heartfelt thanks to the members of our National Guard and Reserve for their extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our nation by signing an ESGR Statement of Support.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of January, 2010 in St. Augustine, Florida at a duly constituted meeting of the Board of Directors of the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
