WHEREAS, the Florida Police Chiefs Association and the American
Red Cross have a long and distinguished history of assisting others in times of need, and;
WHEREAS, one of the purposes of the Florida Police Chiefs
Association is the adoption of humane efforts which coincides with the American Red Cross mission when they
mobilize to help their neighbors - across the street, across the country and across the world - in emergencies,
and;
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross has taken a leadership role
in providing the aid and comfort needed by the victims of the natural disaster which is currently ongoing in
Haiti, and;
WHEREAS, the Florida Police Chiefs Association desires to show
support for the American Red Cross in their efforts to provide relief and support;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Florida Police Chiefs
Association encourages all the members of the organization to assist their local Red Cross offices with aid
needed to facilitate the humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti. Furthermore that all members actively provide
materials, funding when possible, and a dedicated effort to keep the Red Cross mission in the forefront in
discussion with public officials, the media and other organizations that may provide assistance.
