The Florida Police Chiefs Association, has established the following awards to recognize law enforcement professionals who have distinguished themselves in service to their agencies, commmunities and/or fellow members. President's Award - A recipient is selected annually by the President for outstanding service to the Association, Board of Directors and/or the President in support of our mission. more... Rocky Pomerance Law Enforcement Excellence Award provides a mechanism for the Florida Police Chiefs Association to recognize member agencies for developing and implementing an innovative approach to policing. This award has been named in honor of Rocky Pomerance, who has been recognized as exemplifying the image of an innovative and visionary leader who furthered the mission of the Florida Police Chiefs Association and the law enforcement profession within Florida. more... Explorer Scholarship Awards - The recipients are recommended by a committee and selected by the Foundation's Board of Trustees during the the summer meeting at the Florida Police Chiefs Annual Summer Conference. The Foundation offers several $1,000 scholarships each year to Police Explorers who have excelled academically and who have served their post and community with distinction. more... Wall of Honor Awards - This Award and Wall of Honor at FPCA headquarters will immortalize those persons who contributed greatly to the F.P.C.A. The recipients are recommended by current or past members of the FPCA and fowarded to the Wall of Honor Committee for their review. The process for recognition will require a unanimous vote of all committee members and ties shall be broken through the process of a second vote where the highest number of 1st place ballots will designate the award recipient. more... |
