    Salary Incentives: Assignment pay for specialized units.  State Educational Degree Incentive (Associates Degree $30/mth, Bachelor's Degree $80/mth, Masters Degree $100/mth); Career Development Incentive (Up to $130).

    The City of Treasure Island is a 3.5 mile barrier island, located on the Gulf of Mexico.  We serve a population of 7,500 permanent residents with up to 25,000 seasonal residents.  The Police Department is a progressive, modern organization comprised of 19 sworn officers that in conjunction with its road patrol provides the following specialized services: a marine patrol, a detective bureau, bicycle and A-T-V patrols.  Our civilian support staff provides the on-site communications center, police records and property/evidence management.  Patrol operation utilizes a squad system that provides most officers with a four day on - three day off duty schedule.

    Requirements:

    Applicants must be at least 21 years old, a United States citizen and be currently certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in the United States or any of its military organizations. Applicants must pass an oral board, polygraph and psychological evaluation.  Additionally, applicants must pass a physical agility exercise, a swim test, a thorough medical evaluation, (including drug screen) and a comprehensive background investigation. Preference will be given to applicants possessing Community Policing experience and at least one year of experience as a full-time law enforcement officer.

    A City's law enforcement officer application is required.  Applicant Note:  The portion of page eight on the application which asks for the applicant's motivation to be a police officer must be completed in their own handwriting using blue ink.  Additional sheets may be added for this question or any other questions requiring further explanation.  Questions on this application that are answered with "see resume" or "refer to the attached" may be cause for the application to be rejected.  The application is to be notarized from the state where it was completed prior to submission.

    The City of Port St Lucie is currently seeking a highly motivated Police Chief with leadership experience.

    Minimum Requirements:  Masters degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.  Ten (10) years of experience in law enforcement and responsible administrative positions, three (3) years of which must have been at the level of Chief or Assistant Chief in a comparable department and a record of successfully setting and accomplishing goals and objectives.  Experience must be in both Operational and Administrative components.  Completion of an executive-level law enforcement training program; F.B.I.
