Partnerships

In August, 2002, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, partnered with Stanard & Associates, Inc., to offer public safety agencies a legally defensible, nationally validated examination that was designed to identify candidates who possess the skills necessary to function successfully as an entry level police officer. The service has since expanded to include supervisor/promotional exams and dispatcher exams. This service offered by the Florida Police Chiefs Association is designed to help departments throughout Florida select the best officers, supervisors and dispatchers possible through inexpensive and highly effective applicant testing.
Including the State of Florida, police chief associations in 25 states have adopted the National Police Officer Selection test: Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. The states of Iowa, Montana, Utah and Wyoming are mandated by their State Training Boards to use Stanard exams.
