Once again, we are pleased to announce that the Florida Police Chiefs Association is holding its 2008 Mid-Winter Training Conference and Exposition from January 12th - 16th, 2008, at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, in St. Augustine, Florida and you are cordially invited to attend.

Captain Argatha Gilmore and the members of the Training Committee have planned another phenomenal training program. Monday - Renowned speaker Dr. Dale Henry presents a NEW and amusing session designed to reboot and reset your master computer - the brain - and enable you to work and play smarter in an increasingly ever-changing environment. Dr. Henry will also address ethics and leadership tools for the LE Administrator. Tuesday - Updates for Law Enforcement; Civil Liability Issues with Attorney John Makholm; Open Forum topics include Property Tax and the FPCA's 2008 Legislative Agenda; followed by Mr. Ancil Sparks "Coach for Success" with his presentation: Communication is a Leadership Imperative. Wednesday - FDLE Mandatory Training completes the Four Year Requirement for Safe and Legal Traffic Stops.

As in our past Mid-Winter programs, we will discuss contemporary problems and issues during an "Open Forum", facilitated by Captain Gilmore. In addition, we will focus on legislative initiatives slated for 2008, and take a look at the latest in police training, equipment, products and services at our Exposition that will include 143 Vendors.

The Members Only "Meet & Greet" Cocktail Party & Dinner has been moved to Tuesday evening. This year's event will be held at the Murray Brothers Caddy Shack, which will be closed to the public during the party. Melissa Solomon, Florida Embroidered Patches, our Platinum Sponsor, and Errol Pegler, Superior Uniform Company, will be co-hosting this three-hour extravaganza! For registered attendees there is no charge, however, if you plan to bring a guest, tickets are available at a cost of $50, and MUST be purchased PRIOR to December 10, 2007 - no exceptions!

The cost for the Chief Executive or Initial Registrant (FPCA Member) to attend the conference is only $225 if paid by December 10, 2007 and $250 thereafter. Chief Executive or Initial Registrant (Non FPCA Member) may attend for $275 if registered by December 10, 2007 and $300 thereafter. FPCA Cancellation Policy: 30 days or more notice will result in a refund less a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued if a cancellation is made with less than 30 days notice.

Members of your Command Staff (FPCA member) may also attend at a cost of only $175 if registration is made by December 10, 2007 and $225 thereafter. Non FPCA Members of your Command Staff may attend for $225 if registered by December 10, 2007 and $250 thereafter.

Exhibits...

Monday, January 14, 2008 - Tuesday, January 15th, 2008. Exhibition times are set around training and food breaks for maximum exposure. Setup will be on Monday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The exhibition area will open at 12:30 p.m. with luncheon provided in the Exhibition Hall and will be the site of a reception from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The exhibit hours for Tuesday are from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Booth space has been sold out in advance for the past five Mid-Winter Expositions. We anticipate that 143 vendors will attend...making this the largest Mid-Winter Conference ever! Once again, our vendors have promised some great door prizes.
