room rate of $130 per night. Training..."A Strikeforce For Leadership" Captain Argatha Gilmore and the members of the Training Committee have planned another phenomenal training program. Monday - The morning session features Dr. Brian Polansky, an award-winning educator, speaker, author, and developer of programs designed to encourage professional success through communication excellence. Monday's schedule includes a session dedicated to the Exposition and will include 151 exhibitors. We encourage all attendees to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about technology available to assist agencies in their mission to provide quality law enforcement in Florida. Training credit will be given for this session. As in past Mid-Winter programs, we will focus on legislative initiatives. The afternoon session begins with "Legislative Update", presented by FPCA Lobbyist Frank Mayernick, followed by "Town Hall Meeeting", a panel discussion comprised of Chiefs, City Managers, FDLE and the State Attorney's Office. Tuesday - The morning will begin with an informative session on "Labor Law" followed by a FDOT/NHTSA presentation by Sandy Richardson. The morning continues with internationally known, award winning authority in leadership, Dr. James Reese who presents a full day on Ethics Based Leadership with topics ranging from leadership and stress management to violence, motivation, and criminal profiling. Events...The lavish Member/Vendor Reception is scheduled to open the Exposition at 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon and will continue until 7:00 p.m. The Annual Pizza Party, sponsored by L.A.W. Publications, will immediately follow the Member/Vendor reception. The Members Only* "Meet & Greet" Reception & Dinner is scheduled for Monday evening.
Once again the event will be held at the Murray Brothers Caddy Shack from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. For registered attendees who are FPCA Members there is no charge, however, if you plan to
bring a guest, tickets are available at a cost of $50, and MUST be purchased PRIOR to December 11, 2008 - no exceptions, as we must give the restaurant our final head count. Cost...The cost for the Chief Executive or Initial Registrant (FPCA Member) to attend the conference is only $225 if paid by December 11, 2008 and $250 thereafter. Chief Executive or Initial Registrant (Non FPCA Member) may attend for $275 if registered by December 11, 2008 and $300 thereafter. FPCA Cancellation Policy: 30 days or more notice will result in a refund less a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued if a cancellation is made with less than 30 days notice.
