On September 27, 1999, at Tampa Police Headquarters, Representative Victor Crist was presented a Florida Police Chiefs Association Legislative Achievement Award. Representative Crist, Chair of the Florida House of Representatives Criminal Justice & Corrections Counsel, has for years been a leader in the war on crime in the state. As Council Chair, he has managed the agenda of the Florida House in the subject matter areas of crime and punishment, law enforcement and juvenile justice.

Major improvements have been made in these areas under the leadership of Representative Crist. Notable among these improvements for 1999 were the "Three Strike" bill sponsored by Representative Crist, and the "10/20/Life" bill which he guided through the legislative process to enactment into law. His efforts in 1999, included many other legislative accomplishments, all reflective of his continuing commitment to protect the public and support the efforts of law enforcement agencies to effectively carry out their missions.

For these reasons the Florida Police Chiefs Association is proud to award Representative Victor Crist a 1999 Florida Police Chiefs Association Legislative Achievement Award.
