January 1, 2002 Partnerships Since September 11, 2001, several things have happened in the United States of America. One of those has been a much improved sharing of information among state, county, local, and even federal law enforcement agencies; and a rebuilding of relationships between law enforcement and the fire service. One of the strong points in public safety that I experienced prior to coming to Florida was a stronger bond between Police and Fire. It is in our best interest to enhance our relationships with area law enforcement and to pursue a stronger partnership with our Firefighters. We can count on seeing a lot more of one another in the future. I hope that by the time you read this message, Osama Bin Laden will be history and our military focus will be forging ahead to rid the world of terrorism. I hope everyone had a great holiday season and we wish everyone a healthy and productive 2002.
