A message from FPCA's President, Chief Richard M. Beary:
Mid-Winter Conference Breaks Records
February 1, 1999
Our Mid-Winter Conference in Daytona Beach was a record breaking success. Thanks to you participation, we set new records for law enforcement executives and vendors in attendance at a mid-winter training conference.
Another concept implemented by our training committee chairman, Chief Richard Overman, was a two-hour open forum to discuss current issues and concerns. This session was lively, and the issues discussed were the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program, off-duty special details, arbitration, and computers and the Y2K impact. Everyone I talked with after the session enjoyed the candor and great exchange of information. We will expand upon this concept for the summer training program.
Our police equipment exposition brought more than 90 vendors together to display state-of-the-art equipment and services. Their continued support of our Association is truly appreciated.
In closing, I want to thank our staff, Executive Director Hal Robbins; Executive Assistant Pat Lange; and Bookeeper Sabrina Counts, for their tireless efforts to make our conference successful. While they tend to remain behind the scenes, they are vital to our mission and success.
