A message from FPCA's President, Chief Gary R. Grosser:
"Thank You, Godspeed"
June 1, 2000
When I joined this Association, sixteen plus
years ago, I did so with only one expectation: to be able to improve my own
level of professionalism. My realization, however, has been that
significantly more benefit has been derived for law enforcement, as a
whole, from the networking, problem resolution, financial management,
legislative efforts and educational aspects that our Association fosters.
This past year, I have been honored to serve as the President of your
Association.
The results of our efforts will be realized by you through magazine
articles, committee meetings, and changes in Florida Statutes, so I won't
iterate them here; but, I send my heartfelt thanks to Executive Director
Hal Robbins, and our Tallahassee office staff, our committee chairs and
members, our Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and to all of you
who volunteered, and in some cases demanded involvement on issues important
to the progressive advances for Florida law enforcement and our Association
that we have achieved.
You exemplify the true meaning of the word "Professional".
In this, my last message to you as your President, I want to express my
appreciation to all of those that provided valued personal support and to
those veterans that set the standard before my term, and those that will
continue to lead the way for Florida and our Nation.
At the same time I pledge to continue to do all I can to assist in the
continued success of our Association as I "pass the torch" to our next
President; and I again challenge all of our members to join fully in the
efforts of our Association's chosen direction.
Your involvement will bring you rewards that can't be measured in
dollars, or awards, but can be readily recognized as an investment in our
State's future, and our chosen profession.
Thank you for the honor of being able to have served with you.
To all of you I wish Godspeed.
