The 49th Summer Conference
at the Tampa Marriott Waterside was outstanding. Thank you, Chief
Bennie Holder and staff, for a strong presentation. Our guest speaker,
General Arthur Diehl, Wing Commander, MacDill A.F.B. made us proud to be
police officers.
Congratulations to Chief J. Romine on his selection as Third Vice President
and to the several new District Representatives.
Thank you Keith Chandler for your dedication and performance during 2000-
2001. This association has and will continue to benefit from your
leadership.
Our appreciation to Hal Robbins for his continued outstanding efforts on
behalf of this association and our staff in Tallahassee, Amy Borgerson and
Pheona Kaiser, who keep this organization together.
And how about our F.P.C.A. Officer of the Year, who received the first "
Lee McGehee" Police Officer of the Year Award for 2000? Officer Carmen
Wilson of the Orlando Police Department was absolutely outstanding, as
were First Runner Up, Sergeant M.P. (Matt) Doughney of the Daytona Beach
Police Department and Second Runner Up, Officer Brian Major of the Port
St. Lucie Police Department. Congratulations to you all.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention F.D.L.E. Director Tim Moore and the
great job he does for the State of Florida.
Thank you all for the privilege of allowing me to serve you as President
of this association for the next 12 months. I intend to leave the current
boards as they exist, except that Paul Uravich will serve as
Parliamentarian, but should anyone want to change their status or pursue
other interests, please contact Hal Robbins.
I would like to thank all of our board members for their efforts. I hope
that we will continue to progress during 2001-2002.
Thank you all for your assistance. I am looking forward to a productive
year.
