Strategic Plan

On September 12, our Board of Directors met in Orlando to review the FPCA Strategic Plan and the progress we have made over the past two years. We are moving ahead as planned and next months edition of the Police Chief Magazine should contain a table indicating our progress. Additionally, we will also be reporting on each committee's accomplishments over the same time period.

I am pleased to report that, upon completing our review of the Strategic Plan, we made several modifications and established a two-year Strategic Plan. We have also drafted our Business Plan for the next year. Our Strategic Priorities, as adopted, are; Leadership, Legislative Initiatives, Quality in Policing, and Financial Stability. These priorities will become the foundation on which the association takes action. In each of these priority areas, we have established the Key Intended Outcomes we will be working toward over the next two years.

The Strategic Priorities and Key Intended Outcomes constitute our Strategic Plan. Our Business Plan for 2002-03 will consist of the numerous Initiatives we will undertake this year in order to achieve our Key Intended Outcomes. A draft of our plan is currently under final review by the Board of Directors and will be finalized by mid-October. The approved plan will appear in its final form in the November Police Chief Magazine.

Our success over the next year lies in the hand's of each and every member. We have very achievable initiatives that will strengthen our association and its ability to represent Florida law enforcement. I thank you all for your continued support.
