Business Plan

More than four months have past since our summer conference. We have worked diligently to provide focus on the initiatives that must be accomplished this administrative year in order to keep our organization moving forward. We have been improving our leadership presence in the law enforcement community, while contributing to the improved quality of police service throughout the state, and we have enhanced our ability to be heard in Tallahassee.

Our Business plan enables us to continue these efforts, and, also, to stabilize our financial position. We will solidify our investment policy and introduce an effort to address long-term financial stability by establishing annual financial goals.

During the past two years, our membership has completed and/or made progress on approximately 65% of the initiatives in our previous Strategic Plan. I encourage everyone to get involved to improve this level of success. Working together, I believe we can complete or significantly contribute to 90% of the initiatives stated in our Business Plan for the current year. The current initiatives will be overseen by the specific committies and/or members to whom they have been delegated. We have clearly stated our initiatives and each is attainable.

In this issue of The Florida Police Chief you will find our Business Plan as well as the actions taken regarding past initiatives. Some of these initiatives have been incorporated into our new Business Plan for completion and others have been replaced with new initiatives identified by your Board of Directors.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to provide quality police service to all Florida communities.
