Must be at least 18 years of age for Detention Deputy and 21 for Patrol Deputy. Must have High School diploma or state-issued GED. Possess valid driver's license. Have no adverse driving history. Have an Honorable Discharge if prior military. No felony convictions. No Family Violence convictions. No Marijuana use in the past 12 months. No use of hard drugs 2 or more times in the past 5 years. No DUI in the past 7 years. Must successfully pass the Peace Officers Entrance Exam administered by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. All candidates must pass a comprehensive background investigation, which includes a review of driver's record history, criminal history and employment history. All applicants must successfully complete a layered voice analysis, psychological exam, interview process and physical exam and drug screening.
